The Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, where we will celebrate the wedding, is a truly spectacular 5-star hotel. Built on the grounds of ancient ruins, it features beautiful gardens, a lovely swimming pool, and access to the Santo Domingo Monastery Museum. We recommend staying, at a minimum, from Tuesday, December 8th to Sunday, December 13th. Please use this booking link to reserve the rooms you need for the duration of your stay. The special rates included in the wedding package are very competitive for this type of hotel. Besides the host hotel, Antigua offers an incredible variety of accommodations for all tastes and budgets. You will find options ranging from the most luxurious to very budget-friendly, but all are characterized by their excellent value for money. Examples include Camino Real, Soleil Antigua, Porta Hotel, Posada del Ángel, Panza Verde Hotel, and Villa Bokeh, in addition to smaller and cozier options like Pensativo House Hotel and Hotel Los Pasos.
Antigua Guatemala, a charming colonial city founded in 1543, flourished as one of the most important jewels of the Spanish Empire in the Americas. Its cobblestone streets, surrounded by majestic volcanoes, tell stories of grandeur and resilience. Over time, the city was destroyed and shaken on various occasions by earthquakes, floods, and volcanic eruptions; yet, the majestic ruins of churches, convents, and monasteries endure as witnesses to its greatness, inspiring admiration and dazzling travelers from all over the world today.
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, Antigua Guatemala captivates visitors with its baroque architecture, vibrant cultural life, and living traditions, making it a unique destination where every corner breathes history, spirituality, and beauty.
The wide variety of restaurants, nightlife, and hotels makes this city a true magnet for travelers, offering memorable experiences and options for all budgets.
With a wonderful climate and surrounded by abundant nature, it's a place that enchants tourists. We have two seasons a year, dry and rainy, and the average temperature is around 77°F (25°C). In December, the mornings are usually sunny and warm, while the evenings offer a mild chill that contrasts with clear skies and beautiful orange sunsets. We recommend you bring light clothing, a sweater for the evenings, sunscreen, and, of course, a few swimsuits to enjoy your time to the fullest.
